HOLLYWOOD—The contenders for the 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards were announced on May 3 and leading all contenders was the blockbuster hit “Black Panther” with seven nominations including Best Movie. Followed close behind was the Netflix series “Stranger Things” which picked up six nominations including Best Show.

For the second consecutive year, the ceremony has ensured to have gender neutral categories which I think is fantastic. This is something more awards shows should seriously consider, as it puts the best against the best and cuts down on unnecessary categories at the same time. The festivities will be hosted by “Girls Trip” and break-out star Tiffany Haddish. Oh, I can only imagine what this woman will say and do while on stage. Prepare to have bellyaches because with Haddish you will get plenty of truth and unexpected antics, which is going to make for a hilarious ceremony.
