SAN FRANCISCO—An 18-year-old man identified as Josiah Lightfoot, was shot and killed in San Francisco’s Oceanview neighborhood on Friday, January 20, officials from the San Francisco Police Department reported.

The homicide occurred at Broad Street and Plymouth Avenue at around 4:35 p.m., where Lightfoot was found dead of a gunshot wound. 

Police did not elaborate on the circumstances of the homicide and have not released any information regarding details on a suspect in the case. Authorities are looking for a male suspect of an unknown age, who they believe to be connected to the crime.

Condolences from friends and family have were posted on social media over the weekend. According to Lightfoot’s Facebook page, he attended Balboa High School where he played football for the school.

This would mark San Francisco’s fourth homicide in 2017. The location of Plymouth Avenue and Broad Street has been the site of at least two other homicides.

In October 2016, a man was killed near the same intersection during a double shooting. In October 2015, a man was killed during a morning shooting that also damaged multiple storefronts in the region.
