SAN FRANCISCO—The San Francisco Police Department arrested a suspect in connection to a string of robberies at several 7-Eleven establishments dating back to June 16. On July 17, Mario Robinson, 27, of Oakland was taken into custody by a member of the Tenderloin Station and the SFPD Robbery Detail, who were investigating a string of robberies at 7-Eleven stores in the region. Robinson is the suspect in five robbery cases.

According to the SFPD website, Robinson committed four armed robberies and attempted a fifth over the course of three weeks. “He calmly walked into the stores during business hours and brandishing a handgun. Robinson concealed his identity using a black ski mask,” the SFPD stated in a press release.

Robinson was booked at the San Francisco County Jail on eight counts of robbery, five counts of second degree burglary and two counts of attempted robbery. Due to pending identification matters, a booking photo is not being released at this time.

The SFPD indicated the investigation is the result of a coordinated effort by members of the Patrol and Investigations Bureau, which led to the safe and successful apprehension of a dangerous criminal. The case is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the San Francisco Police at 415-575-4444 or Text-a-Tip to TIP411 and begin the text message with SFPD.
