SAN FRANCISCO—The San Francisco Police Department arrested Agustin Garcia, 19, of San Francisco in connection to a series of assaults transpiring in the areas of San Bruno and Silver Avenues, San Bruno and Arleta Avenues, and San Bruno and Egbert Avenues. According to a press release from the SPFD, officers from the Bayview Station started investigating the assaults which transpired in August.

During one incident, the victim’s nose was fractured, with a large laceration which required seven sutures. In another incident, the victim’s tooth was broken. Garcia resides in the vicinity where a vast majority of the attacks transpired. The suspect was already in custody for being connected to similar assaults that transpired in the Ingleside District around the region of San Bruno and Wilde Avenues.

All of Garcia’s victims were Asian females, and each attack made was unprovoked. The investigation has determined several of the victims were followed off MUNI transits by Garcia.

He was arrested on felony charges of assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury, battery with serious injuries, terrorist threats, attempted kidnapping, and a hate crime allegation.

Investigators believe the suspect has committed more assaults that have not been reported to the authorities. Some victims reported they spotted him on several other occasions on MUNI coaches prior to the unprovoked attacks. Garcia was wearing sunglasses during some of the assaults.
