SAN FRANCISCO—A man is in custody after allegedly assaulting a mailman in San Francisco’s Marina District on Thursday, April 6, according to the San Francisco Police Department.

The 51-year-old mailman was double-parked while delivering mail in the area of Divisadero and Bay Streets around 5:55 p.m..

The suspect, a 46-year-old man, was apparently upset by the the mailman’s parking. He pulled up behind the mailman and started honking his horn loudly. The suspect whose name has not been released, got out of his car and hit the mailman multiple times in the face and on the body.

Authorities later arrived and the driver was arrested. The mailman was taken to a local hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
