HOLLYWOOD—Well, he might be small, but he delivered a big punch to the box-office. Superhero “Ant-Man,” dominated the box-office this weekend taking in a little over $58 million. Quite disappointed as I considered “Ant-Man” to be a fun-ride. Perhaps word of mouth buzz could help the flick in coming weeks.

Landing in second place was last week’s champ “Minions” which took in another $50.2 million. In just under 2 weeks the animated flick has already crossed the $200 million mark at the domestic box-office. Nabbing third place with moviegoers was the Amy Schumer comedy “Trainwreck” with an impressive $30.2 million. Not bad for an R-rated comedy.

“Inside Out” continued to impress fans with another $11.7 million to its tally to land in fourth place. Rounding out the top five was “Jurassic World” earning another $11.4 million. The dinosaurs have no solidified themselves as the fourth highest grossing flick of all time with a total of $611 million at the domestic box-office.

There will be plenty of options for theatergoers this weekend as “Pixels,” “Paper Towns” and “South Paw” all vow for the top spot.
