Arrest Made In Connection To Tree Vandalism

SAN FRANCISCO—An arrest was made on Wednesday, July 10, in regards to the vandalism of trees in Golden Gate Park. The man who has not been identified was seen by witnesses on Wednesday damaging trees in the park and police officials were called to the scene.

Over 200 trees have been vandalized in Golden Gate Park since last September and police have been searching for the person responsible. The suspect is being questioned, but police do not know for sure if he is the only individual responsible for all of the damages.

The trees that were vandalized in the park were newer trees and it has cost the city of San Francisc0 nearly $50,000 in damages.
