SAN FRANCISCO—Officers from the San Francisco Police Department have arrested 6 suspects in connection to a string of armed robberies that have transpired in the area since April 23. According to a press release from the SPFD, on April 23, at approximately 11:59 p.m. officials from the SFPD Central Station received a report of an armed robbery that transpired on the 1700 block of Stockton Street.

While heading to the location, they received descriptions of the suspects and the getaway vehicle. On the scene, officers responded to the two victims, a 28 year-old male from Fresno and a 25 year-old female from San Francisco. They informed the authorities that while they were walking westbound on Filbert Street towards Stockton Street, several males exited an SUV and surrounded them. One of the suspects retrieved a handgun and demanded property from both victims, before the culprits fled in a waiting SUV.

Officers searched the location and stopped an SUV that matched the description of the suspects given by the victims near Clay Street and Sansome Street. The victims were taken to the scene and identified the vehicle and suspects involved in the robbery.

Authorities arrested the driver, Jacob Zamecnick, 20, of Vacaville, and the passengers inside which included: Rodney Snell, 19, of Vacaville and Jaylen Douglas, 18, of Modesto. All there were booked at the San Francisco County jail on the following charges: carrying a loaded firearm with intent to commit a felony, possession of stolen property, robbery and conspiracy. Zamecnick was also booked for driving with a suspended license.

Police also took three juveniles into custody: a 17 year-old male, a 17 year-old female and a 15 year-old male, all residents of Vacaville. They were arrested and booked at the Juvenile Justice center on the following charges: carrying a loaded firearm with intent to commit a felony, possession of stolen property, robbery, conspiracy and minor in possession of a concealable firearm.

The 15 year-old male was also booked on assault against a person with force likely to produce great bodily injury after being identified as a suspect in the Richmond and Park District incidents.

Several of the suspects were also connected to the following robberies:

-April 23, 2017 at 11 p.m. on 4th Avenue and Cabrillo Street for Robbery with a Gun

-April 23, 2017 at 11:19 p.m. on 4th Avenue and Cabrillo Street for Attempted Robbery w/Force

-April 23, 2017 at 11:30 p.m. on 21st Avenue and Cabrillo Street for Robbery with a Gun

Authorities recovered a firearm and multiple items belonging to victims inside the vehicle. Booking photos will not be released at the moment due to pending identification matters. The SFPD is still investigating the case.
