NEW ORLEANS HORNETS WIN 116-104

OAKLAND-In the end, the New Orleans Hornets were just too much for the Golden State Warriors on Friday, January 4, 2008.   The team now stands with a record of 19-15 as the Hornets outplayed the Warriors to win 116-104.   The Warriors were able to cut a 14 point deficit that they faced in the first half, but it wasn’t enough to finish of the sting of the Hornets.   Baron Davis scored 26 pts and had eight assists during Friday’s game.   The Hornets were definitely feeling the offensive side of the game as they shot for 58% in the first quarter.

At halftime, the game was extremely close as the Warriors cut the Hornets lead to two with a score of 58-56, but the Hornets quickly got back into the game in the second half.   The Hornets have been on fire winning seven of their last eight games. Golden State star Stephen Jackson was hit with a technical foul after he pushed Ryan Bowen of the Hornets.   Andris Biedrins scored 20 pts in the game shooting 10-11, while teammate Al Harrington scored 24 pts during the game.
