My name is, well, wait a minute - I'm not really sure - as I'm being called "Baby Girl" and Little Girl"!  I'm also being called a Min-Pin.  I wondered, what in the world that was!  Then I heard someone say that it's short for Miniature Pinscher.  We're no relation to the Doberman Pinscher, but just a small version of a Pinscher.  We were developed in Germany from terrier
breeds, and the word Pinscher means terrier in German.  Whew!  There are so many things for a little one year old girl to remember!
   Now a little about me, personally!  I'm very friendly and love to play and take walks.  I'm very loyal and am eager to learn new things and am very quick to learn. I'm only about 10 pounds -  and one last thing to leave you with - Min-Pins are often called "King of the Toys".  Now, isn't that impressive?  Won't you please call to see me?
   Note: A bill mandating the sterilization of most dogs and cats four months and older in L.A. City is before the City Council and is expected to pass .
It would exclude show animals, service animals, animals of licensed breeders, and dogs and cats that veterinarians feel are too risky. Why anyone would argue this bill is beyond me!  There are about one half a million dogs and cats euthanized in Calif. each year.  Last year in L.A. alone 8960 cats and 6049 dogs were euthanized.
   If for no other reason, please do it for the health of your pet. Spaying females prevents the risk of uterine and ovarian cancer and reduces the possibility of mammary cancer.  Neutering males eliminates testicular cancer and reduces the possibility of prostate disease.  The City of L.A. offers free and low cost spaying and neutering vouchers for people that qualify.
   I would like nothing better than to have no more calls about stray dogs and cats and puppies and kittens.  It is so heartbreaking!  Wouldn't it be wonderful to have no more need for shelters and pounds and the unnecessary euthanizing of these wonderful creatures?  That is my dream!  If you haven't already, won't you please take that first step?
