This Mother’s Day is the time to indulge your mom by firing up the stovetop. There is nothing like waking up to the intoxicating smell of eggs, sizzling bacon, and pancakes. The sound of the clinking of glasses being filled with fresh-squeezed orange juice is enough to make your mom feel special. If you really want to hit a home run, place a vase filled with her favorite flowers on the table. Another idea to honor your mom this year is to make a donation to a children’s shelter in her name. If she has passed on, volunteer for a cause she was deeply passionate about. Whatever is on the agenda for the day, whether you honor your mom with a simple card or a gift, remember to take the time to tell her how much you appreciate her and how she has motivated you and shaped you into the person you are today. No matter what you decide to do, the reigning queen on May 11 is Mom.

It was just a couple of weeks ago, that Stargazing wrote in the column “Star Watch” about Miley Cyrus. Just for the record, the photo shoot, I believe, took place two months ago, featuring world-renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz. As a mother, I’m against the sexual exploitation of underage girls. However, we may recall the tween queen happily posed for pictures on the red carpet last month in a halter gown that exposed more of her back than the now infamous "Vanity Fair" pictures in the June issue of the magazine. While some cynics say that the photos were likely a calculated move to expand Cyrus’s audience, I must agree with Jamie Lee Curtis when she wrote on the Huffington Post blog: “When these young people get all dressed up for award show red-carpet events don't we all comment how beautiful, stunning and grown-up they look in their strapless/backless dresses and heels and tousled hair? None of this is new. None of this should be news. But it is news because it is a business. It is all Business. It is called Show Business. Show Abyss-ness! I call it Show-OFF Business.”

Celeb Rule No.22: How to Stop the Paparazzi: Say you’re planning an A-list wedding extravaganza, and you want to make sure those annoying photographers don’t ruin the mood. What do you do? If you’re Mariah Carey and actor Nick Cannon, you keep your mouth shut and tie the knot at home in the Caribbean island of Eleuthera. According to several published reports, Carey, 38, married Cannon, 27, on April 30 at her home, the Associated Press says. Mariah, who was seen at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of her movie, “Tennessee,” sporting a huge diamond ring with Cannon at her side fueled speculation that the couple were engaged, reports the AP. Cannon, who is 11 years her junior, recorded a rap album, but he is best known for his role in the movie “Drumline.” He also portrays her lover in her new video “Bye Bye.” This would be the second marriage for Carey and Cannon’s first marriage. Mariah was once married to music-mogul Tommy Mottola in an extravagant wedding in 1993, and divorced five years later.
Patrick Dempsey is the guy you and your mom drool over every week on “Grey’s Anatomy.” In the new big-screen comedy “Made of Honor,” Dr. McDreamy trades in his scrubs for a pretty white dress. It’s really hard to believe that the main character Hannah (Michele Monaghan) gets engaged to another guy and makes Tom her maid of honor. If you love Patrick Dempsey, then you must-see this movie.
Rose’s Scoop: Britney Spears pushed the CBS ratings so high, that she’s back for May sweeps on “How I Met Your Mother.” The episode titled “Everything Must Go,” is set to air on May 12.
