This year is the year of Spain. First, they became the European champions of the UEFA for 2008. Then Rafael Nadal became the new king of England, dethroning five-time champ Roger Federer at Wimbledon on July 6. The game went on for almost five hours of unforgettable tennis, (4 hours and 48 minutes to be exact), the longest men’s final in Wimbledon history. Anyone who watched the game felt the intensity, drama and emotional roller coaster. The pressure was on. Nadal sprawled in exhilaration after realizing he had won his first Wimbledon championship. He then arose, climbed through the stands to hug his dad, uncle and family, and then, with the flag of Spain around his back, dashed straight across the roof of the commentators’ box to shake the hand of Prince Felipe of Spain, and his wife Princess Letizia. Nadal, who showed plenty of emotions with tears in his eyes, was the first Spaniard to win Wimbledon since Manolo Santana in 1966.
In London, the Madonna/A-Rod thing is not as big of a deal since the readers have to be told, over and over again, that he’s a baseball star playing in New York. Now leave it to New York Post gossip queen Cindy Adams, who not only bagged an exclusive with Cynthia Rodriguez, but clarified on July 11, that the screening at the Tribeca Grand was last December.

According to The Sun, the ladies will be wearing some interesting outfits. They say the ladies will be wrapped in bandages and unwrapped by leather thong-clad male dancers. Madonna will kick off her tour Aug. 23 in Cardiff, Wales.
It is hard to believe that it’s been three years after their reality show ended. Ozzy Osbourne and his family will return back to TV to host a variety show for Fox, reports Variety. The show is scheduled to launch in December with a Christmas special. The show will have musical performances, along with comedy sketches, and out-of-studio taped segments.
Oh, those celebrity baby names. Now, joining Honor, Levi, Apple and Moses, we have Sunday Rose. Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban named their first baby girl Sunday even though she gave birth on Monday, July 7 in Nashville. Kidman has been married to Keith Urban since 2006. Celebrity babies, also known as million dollar babies, reportedly get anywhere from $1.5 million (Jessica Alba’s baby, Honor) to Matthew McConaughey’s baby, Levi, who sold for $3 million, to Ok! Magazine. Of course, we can hear the playground trash talking already: “My mommy sold my baby pictures out for more money than your daddy!” I do think the Brangelina twins will blow them all away; it’s been reported that the first photo shoot could fetch up to $12 million.
The hospital where Angelina Jolie gave birth says it has covered the windows of her room with a special material to keep the paparazzi from taking pictures of the actress and her partner, Brad Pitt. The Lenval hospital in Nice said in a statement that photos of Jolie and Pitt in her room are fakes that have been manipulated or show other patients.
Rose’s Scoop: If you love dogs, you must tune in for the “Greatest American Dog” on CBS.
