This Week In Hollywoodland

This week in Hollywoodland was filled with suspense, laughter and a few shockers.  It started out when Kelsey Grammer proclaimed the suit against him meritless. Grammer told the news site TMZ the lawsuit filed against him last week by a home contractor "has no merit," adding "Their claim was filed over a year after they were fired for non-performance and after having received fees over $900,000. I pay my bills in a timely fashion, always have." Kelsey also says he plans to file a counterclaim against the plaintiffs.
Grammer's attorney Paul Sorrell added fuel to the fire, saying "We have just learned that this company, The Last Detail, owned by Greg Cline, has had at least three citations issued against them with the State of California's Consumer Board, including one instance of fraud." The Last Detail sued Grammer last week, claiming they got stiffed to the tune of nearly $200,000 for remodeling Grammer's kitchen, bedroom and doing other stuff. The Last Detail had no comment for Grammer’s response.
Lindsay Lohan made a judge very happy on Tuesday. But not for her film “Freaky Friday.” It is because of her dedication to sobriety. A judge in Beverly Hills says Lindsay Lohan is making all the right moves in satisfying her DUI probation requirement, which included a trip to the morgue. Lindsay's lawyer, Blair Berk, appeared on her client's behalf for the progress report. The judge said she's done what was expected of her, including tackling the whole morgue thing. She also completed her community service.
Lindsay’s next hearing is set for January 2009. She’ll have to attend that hearing in person. Good luck Lindsay, and get back to work. Oh, Lindsay was working on Tuesday. She was on the movie set of her latest film, “Labor Pains” when a pain really came out of nowhere to hit her. She was expecting this guy who approached her to be a paparazzo. Instead he was a process server. He greeted her and threw the papers at her and she was not pleased. A source close to Lindsay says it was really shady. It seems the process server faked being a paparazzo and threw the papers at her, and now Lindsay's representatives are claiming that is not legal or proper service. The case in question involves Samantha Ronson and the law firm that represented her in a defamation case against Perez Hilton. She claims the firm overcharged her and screwed up her case. Samantha Ronson says in the suit the defamation involves what didn’t happen in Lindsay's infamous car crash in May 2007.
And if you haven’t gotten sick of hearing about Miley Cyrus yet, you will be. She told TV Guide this week of a project she’d like to do. She said, “I’d love to do a younger, cleaner version of ‘Sex and the City.’” She previously told Vanity Fair in her infamous interview that the HBO series “SATC” was her favorite show. It was a cringe moment reading that. I am no prude but isn’t a teenage girl too young to watch such a show? All right, I admit I may just be a prude. Cyrus went on to say, "I like to think of myself as the girl that no one can get, that no one can keep in their hand."
Here’s to hoping she keeps her purity ring on her finger and that her dad and handlers soon start to take more control of her interviews. She is still 15, after all.
