19-Year-Old Woman Struck By Muni Light-Rail

SAN FRANCISCO On Thursday, March 4, a 19-year-old woman was hit by a light-rail vehicle and was injured. Although her injuries were severe, she is expected to recover, according to police. She was transported to the local hospital for treatment.

The incident happened around 9:45 p.m. in the Oceanview neighborhood. Initially she was struck by a San Francisco Municipal Railway- M Ocean view-line, police stated. It is located near the intersection of San Jose Avenue and Farallones Street.

Muni Spokesperson Judson True reported that the woman was under the front left of the train, but the wheels did not make contact with her.

Commuters were taken by buses between Broad Street and Plymouth Avenue and San Jose and Geneva avenues.

San Francisco police and the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency are investigating the incident.
