SAN FRANCISCO
—In the afternoon of Friday, November 7, an unnamed driver crashed into a wall near the Marina Green. According to reports, the crash took place on Broderick Street, possibly close to the intersection with Marina Boulevard. The driver was hospitalized, but his/her name has yet to be released. The current condition of the driver is currently unknown.
Both the San Francisco Fire Department and local Coast Guard officials were alerted to the situation, though apparently for different reasons. According to Bay City News, a Coast Guard official stated that the Coast Guard was notified of the incident after it was suspected that fluid from the car, perhaps transmission fluid, may have dripped into the marina waters. There has been no report of contamination.
The Marina Green is a part of the San Francisco Marina. According to the City of San Francisco website, the Marina Green is a park and tourist attraction, with concession areas and multiple parking areas. The Marina Green is described as "a major and popular city park destination" with "easy access from Marina Boulevard." The Marina Green is located between the East and West Harbors the San Francisco Marina.
