SAN FRANCISCO—On June 22, the San Francisco Police Department issued an online press release reporting the department's search for a person of interest, 36-year-old Saul Gallegos, in connection with his wife's suspicious death.

Gallegos's wife died on June 14.  Her body was discovered on the 700 block of Geary Street.

Gallegos is wanted on a domestic violence warrant involving his wife, and is possibly suicidal, according to the release.  Sergeant Williams, of SFPD, told The San Francisco News that the department is unable to release any further information regarding Gallegos's mental condition.

Sergeant Lyn Tomioka, also a spokesperson, adds, "This is a suspicious death and still a Medical Examiner's case."  She states to The San Francisco News that the homicide detectives are currently handling the case, even though it has not yet been declared a homicide.

Gallegos is 5 feet 7 inches, 175 pounds and of medium build.  He has black hair and brown eyes.  He is known to frequent the San Francisco and Antioch areas.

SFPD encourages anyone who sees Gallegos, or has information about his location, to contact Inspectors Rick Martin, John Cleary, or Mike Johnson, at 553-1145 at the Operations Center during non-business hours.  Those wishing to remain anonymous may contact the Confidential Tip Line at 415-575-4444.
