SAN FRANCISCO—On Tuesday, September 30, the City of South San Francisco suffered its first homicide of the year, when a young boy came home and found his father dead near the front door of their house.

The man was later identified as 29-year-old Andre Jamil Townsend and was found by his 9-year-old son at around 3:30 p.m. on the 3700 block of Raburn Drive.

Townsend suffered several gunshot wounds and his body was scheduled for an autopsy on October 1, to determine what caused his death.

According to the South San Francisco police, there was no weapon found at the scene and no suspects have been arrested in connection with the shooting.

Townsend had another son, who is 3 years old, in the house at the time of the shooting, but he was not harmed. His girlfriend also arrived at the house when authorities arrived on the scene, but she has yet to be named a suspect in the homicide.
