SAN FRANCISCO—The San Francisco Police Department has apprehended two suspects responsible for an attempted robbery with a gun on October 2. The incident occurred at approximately 2:10 p.m. inside the Golden Gate Park near the Conservatory of Flowers.

According to a press release from the SFPD website, the victim was tourist from Egypt who was accosted by three people. One demanded his belongings, and another flashed a firearm. The victim was able to get help by dialing 911, as the suspects fled the scene. A witness was able to keep tabs on them.

Officers located and detained all three suspects matching the descriptions provided by the victim and witnesses. Police also recovered the weapon used in the attempted robbery. Authorities arrested Ishmael Watkins, 20, of Oakland and a 16 year-old juvenile from Daly City.

Watkins was booked at the San Francisco County Jail on attempted robbery, brandishing a firearm, conspiracy, probation violation and false name charges. The juvenile was booked at the Juvenile Justice Center for attempted robbery, conspiracy and brandishing firearm charges.
