SAN FRANCISCO—Police have made an arrest in a deadly hit-and-run that occurred on Saturday, May 3 at around 2:20 a.m. According to a press release from the SFPD website, the suspect’s vehicle entered the intersection of Cesar Chaves and Folsom Streets at a fast speed and didn’t stop at a red light.

The victim’s vehicle was sideswiped and sustained critical injuries. He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where he later died. The suspect in the other vehicle fled on foot. While conducting the investigation, the SFPD’s Traffic Collision Investigation Unit led to the identification of Jamie Linares, 25, of San Francisco where a $1 million warrant for felony hit and run and felony manslaughter was issued for his arrest.

Linares turned himself into authorities on May 7 and was booked at the county jail and is also facing a charge for felony robbery. Authorities have not released the name of the victim in the case or a photo of the suspect as the case is still ongoing.
