HOLLYWOOD—It doesn’t have the same clout that it used to have, but I do like that the MTV Movie & TV Awards have eliminated gender from the acting categories to just focus on the best of the best. To be honest it would cut a significant amount of time and many award shows and bring an edge to the ceremonies.
Nominees for the 2019 ceremony were unveiled on Wednesday, May 15 and leading the pack of all contenders were “Avengers: Endgame” and “RBG” with total of four nominations. Actor and star of the superhero flick “Shazam!” Zachary Levi is slated to host the ceremony on June 17. There new categories were introduced into the race this year: Best Real-Life Hero, Reality Royalty and Most Meme-able Moment.

The 2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards will be televised on Monday, June 17 at 9 p.m. on MTV. The awards will be handed out from the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica.
