BELMONT—A dispute over a $10 car ride led to the stabbing death of a 19-year-old college student in a Belmont parking lot on April 25.

College of San Mateo student Denis Meshchyshyn, a 19-year-old Belmont resident, was reportedly paid $10 for a ride by fellow 19-year-old Timothy Anthony Guerra.

When Meshchyshyn failed to follow through on his agreement, Guerra tracked him to a parking lot between Masonic Way and Ralston Avenue. It was there that an incensed Guerra allegedly confronted Meshchyshyn, stabbing him numerous times in the abdomen before fleeing the scene.
