SAN FRANCISCO—The 36th annual Santa Cruz Clam Chowder Cook-Off will continue for two days due to its success. Amateur chefs will compete on Saturday, February 25 and professional chefs will compete on Sunday, February 26.

The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk welcomes all chefs for the annual event. One of the largest and longest-running clam chowder competition in the country. This year the event is expected to bring double of clam chowder lovers and creators.

All the ticket tasting kit fees will benefit the Santa Cruz Parks & Recreation Department.

“I had a blast at the cook off last year! Perfect weather and delicious chowder. It was really fascinating watching the teams prep and cook their entries. I cant wait for this year and see who is going to win,” said Maggi K.

For participants looked to compete the deadline to enter is January 29. The entry fee is $50 for amateurs and $75 for professionals.

On both days, a panel of judges will determine the Best Manhattan and Best Boston clam chowders. There will be rewards for People’s Choice and Most Tasted Clam Chowders. For more information on entry fees and voting visit their Facebook page.
