LOS ANGELES—The Los Angeles Clippers routed the Phoenix Suns 98-116, on Monday, October 31.

Los Angeles managed to put their shooting woes behind them, making 40 of 80 field goal attempts in the win.

Phoenix was able to keep the game close in the opening period, ending the quarter tied at 24 points apiece. The Clippers took control of the game in the second, outscoring the Suns 12-24. Los Angeles entered the half on a 12-point lead, with 15 points coming from Blake Griffin.

Clippers’ Head Coach Doc Rivers praised his team’s defensive effort in the win.

“The things I liked were that we stayed engaged defensively, and that is what we’ve done all year and they just kept trusting. It’s like they know it’s going to fall and eventually it started falling and once the basket opened up, with the way we were defending, we were in great shape,” said Rivers.

Chris Paul bounced back from a mediocre performance on Sunday against the Utah Jazz, leading all scorers with 24 points while adding 8 assists and 5 rebounds. Deandre Jordan scored 19 points with 11 rebounds and 2 assists, while Griffin ended the night with a double-double himself of 21 points and 11 rebounds.

Brandon Knight led the Suns in scoring with 18 points, with forward T.J. Warren scoring 15 for Phoenix. The Suns have failed to win a game yet this season, bringing their losing streak to four straight with the loss.

The Clippers will face the Oklahoma City Thunder in their next game on Wednesday, November 2
