WEST HOLLYWOOD—Singer Courtney Love, 54, is being sued by her daughter, Frances Bean Cobain’s ex-husband, Isaiah Silva. The lawsuit involves an alleged attack on Silva in June 2016 at his home.

According to the initial complaint filed in May 2018, Love, celebrity manager Osama Lufti, and actor Ross Butler conspired to kidnap and kill Silva in an attempt to take back a guitar that once belonged to Kurt Cobain, Love’s ex-husband. The guitar is a 1959 Martin D-18E that notably appeared in Nirvana’s “MTV Unplugged in New York” performance. According to Silva, it was a gift from Frances.

The guitar has been of public interest since the 2016 divorce between Silva and Frances, which was a contested issue during their divorce.

Allegedly, Lufti, Butler and a man named Yan Yukhtman broke into Silva’s home in West Hollywood and pretended to be officers from the Los Angeles Police Department. They dragged him out of his home and put him in a black Cadillac Escalade. Love and the other men are alleged to have used threats to get Silva to a settlement that would make Silva return the guitar.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Randolph Hammock on Wednesday, January 30, is still reviewing the case to determine if Love and an attorney who was involved in the alleged attack should remain as defendants in the case.

According to reports, Love, who has been accused as the ringleader behind the incident, and the attorney, who allegedly informed Lufti to not let Silva disagree with the settlement, were not present during the alleged attack Isiah Silva.
