NEW ORLEANS, LA—The Los Angeles Lakers were unable to extend their win streak, losing to the New Orleans Pelicans 105-88 on Tuesday, November 29.

Anthony Davis led the Pelicans with a game-high 41 points and 16 rebounds in their seventh win of the season. Davis has emerged as the league’s leading scorer, averaging 31.8 points per game.

“I put in so much work to try and better myself as a basketball player, and when I’m on the floor I feel like no one can stop me,” Davis said after the game.

Jrue Holiday had 22 points and five assists for New Orleans while Omar Asik added 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Lou Williams scored a team high 16 points for the Lakers, who have lost three of their last four games. Julius Randle added 12 points and 10 rebounds; Timofey Mozgov had 10 points and nine rebounds.

Starter Nick Young left the game with a strained right Achilles tendon in the first quarter. Young is expected to undergo an MRI on Wednesday, according to the team.

The Lakers are now 9-10 overall and will play the Chicago Bulls for the second time this season on Wednesday, November 30.

The Pelicans are now 7-12 on the season after snapping a two-game losing streak. New Orleans will face the Los Angeles Clippers in their next game on Friday, December 2.
