SAN FRANCISCO—The San Francisco Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit arrested Esam Abualshaar, 25, of San Francisco in connection to uploading and trading graphic child pornography over the internet.

The SFPD indicated in a press release that in August 2017 ICAC Unit commenced an investigation into Abualshaar, and on August 29, authorities served a search warrant at a home on the 200 block of Summit Street in San Francisco.

During the search, investigators located numerous media devices belonging to one of the residents, Abualshaar, who works as a driver for several rideshare companies. Investigators found hundreds of child pornography videos and images on Abualshaar’s media devices.

While investigators were searching the home, the suspect arrived home and was arrested. He was later booked at San Francisco County Jail for possession of child pornography, possession of over 600 files of child pornography, possession of child pornography involving sado-masochism, and three counts of distribution of child pornography.
