SAN FRANCISCO—Ex Stockton Mayor, Anthony Silva was arrested on Sunday, March 5 at San Francisco International Airport. He was returning from vacations in Colombia his attorney, Allen Sawyer, told Sacramento television station KCRA.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, Silva was booked into San Joaquin County Jail. Anthony Silva, the former mayor of Stockton was charged with money laundering, misused of public funds, theft and shady deals.

On Thursday, March 2, the FBI issued an arrested warrant for Silvia, who left for vacation to Colombia on Wednesday. The arrest warrant was granted a day after he went on vacation.

Sawyer indicated to KCRA that Silva’s arrest is about financial matters and is not related to his arrest in Amador County in 2016.  Sawyer did not comment about last year arrest to the San Francisco News, when asked about his “shady deals”

Silva wrote and posted the following comment on Facebook:

“Apparently Stockton can manage without me for a while so I decided to go explore the world. I am leaving on a jet plane, don’t know when I’ll be back again.”
