HOLLYWOOD—It was expected so no one should be surprised with the news that “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” maintained its spot at the top of the box-office for the second consecutive weekend. The sequel managed to add another $60 million to its tally to bring its domestic total to $265 million in just 10 days.

However, what should be of concern is the fact that the film dropped more than 50 percent in its second weekend in theaters. With “Ant-Man and the Wasp” arriving in theaters on Friday, you can say the dinosaurs have taken as much of a bite out of the box-office as they plan to.  Nabbing second place was the animated feature “Incredibles 2” with $45.5 million. The sequel has become the box-office titan of the summer, bringing in over $440 million domestically in just 3 weeks. It is very safe to say, “Incredibles 2” will cross the $500 million mark before ending its run in theaters.

Debuting in third place is the sequel “Sicaro: Day of the Dolado” with a respectable $19 million. Not bad for a flick that has been highly advertised on the TV waves in recent weeks and doesn’t have its original star Emily Blunt in the mix. The comedy “Uncle Drew” landed in fourth place with $15.5 million and rounding out the top five was the heist flick “Ocean’s 8” with another $8 million to its domestic tally.

The Fourth of July falls on a Wednesday this week, which complicates not only the holiday season, but the box-office as well. The prequel, “The First Purge” arrives on July 4, while the hotly anticipated “Ant-Man and the Wasp” is unleashed to fans on July 6. Let’s just say “The First Purge” should be happy to have at least 2 days in advance of our latest superhero this summer!
