SAN FRANCISCO—George Washington High School (GWHS) received a bomb threat on October 28, where officers from the San Francisco Police Department responded by putting the school and neighboring Presidio Middle School and Lafayette Elementary School on lockdown.

According to reports, the high school received the threat at approximately 9:10 a.m., who had been near the high school campus, claimed to be in possession of a bomb, which they reportedly threatened to use on the school grounds.

The San Francisco Unified School District confirmed via Twitter around 1:20 p.m. that no bomb had been found.

Police ordered students and faculty to exit the building and instructed them to remain outside while officers investigated the scene.

According to SF Examiner, the bomb threat was determined to be false at approximately 11:30 a.m. and students and faculty were permitted to reenter the buildings.

The identity of the person who posed the threat is unknown.
