HOLLYWOOD—This is becoming a very interesting awards season in my opinion because if you were to ask me personally if there is a front-runner in the cinematic arena I absolutely could not give you one. On Monday, December 10, the critics decided to allow their voices to be heard with the Critic’s Choice nominations being unveiled.
Leading the pack of all contenders is the dramedy “The Favorite” with a total of 14 nominations including Best Picture. Followed close behind was “Black Panther” with 12 nominations followed by “First Man” with 10 nominations. I would be lying if I told you I wasn’t surprised by the inclusion of “First Man” which has been virtually ignored at this point, the Screen Actors Guild nominations will be telling in my opinion on what flicks have caught the attention of members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
