BEVERLY HILLS—On October 30, the Beverly Hilton Hotel was host for the British Academy of Film and a Television Arts Los Angeles’ annual film awards.

Though most in the audience were British, the event recognized outstanding achievement in both the American and British talent pools.

Among those in attendance included Robert Downey Jr., Emma Watson, Mike Leigh, Dame Judi Dench, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

Downey was the recipient of the Stanley Kubrick Award for Excellence in film, Watson the winner of the Britannia British Artist of the Year, and Dench the with Albert R. (“Cubby”) Broccoli Award for Worldwide Contribution in Entertainment.

Famed for her success as both a Shakespearean actress and her roles in the James Bond movies, Dench has been a part of three $100 million films since 2012. At age 79, Dench will portray the role of Evelyn Greenslade in “The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel,” slated for release in February 2015.
