HOLLYWOOD—Oh, how I love the month of May.  It’s the best month of television as May sweeps are known to bring shocking surprises and twists along the way.  For all you soap lovers out there, “General Hospital” is definitely pulling out all the stops this month to keep the viewers attention.

First and foremost, we have the impending drama involving Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) whose relationship is falling apart thanks to her being brainwashed by Stavros Cassadine. By the way, he’s been put on ice, at least that’s what the audience is made to think.  The more Dante attempts to get his wife to remember their life, the more she runs away from it.

That’s not the only drama the couple faces, as Ellie made the shocking discovery that the baby that Maxie (Kristen Storms) is carrying is actually her boyfriend Spinelli’s (Bradford Anderson) and not the fractured couple.  This cannot be a good idea, we all know secrets have a way of coming out and I expect this one to be quite explosive to say the least.

Duplicity appears to be in full force in Port Charles as Carly (Laura Wright) and AJ (Sean Kanan) do their best to keep their one-night stand from the rest of the world.  Too bad AJ’s mother Monica (Leslie Charleston) is well aware of what the former enemies did.  Wonder if she’ll tell Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) what she saw? She might be keeping that secret, but it will come to surface in due time.  Speaking of Elizabeth, she finds herself being courted by two men: AJ and Nikolas (Tyler Christopher).  Nikolas was the reason her marriage to Lucky fell apart, as for AJ it’s a new beginning.  Nikolas is relentless in pursuing his former flame, but will Liz give into temptation?

Carly isn’t just dealing with a messy love life she has to grapple with the news that her son Morgan has gone missing.  Sonny (Maurice Benard) has been vigilant locating his son, but the couple hasn’t had much luck.  This is where things take an interesting turn.  Sonny and Carly learned from Morgan’s friend Travis that he may be hiding out with some girl.

Surprise, surprise when Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) came knocking at the door of Ava Jerome (Maura West) who shared some vivid stories about her lover Franco (James Franco) who is the father of her daughter Lauren Jerome/Quartermaine/Frank.  He informed Ms. Jerome of her daughter’s inheritance.  This is an interesting plotline on the soap as for weeks a secret heir to the Quartermaine throne has been rumored, but audiences may soon get a peek at that face.

In other places unknown, Spinelli came face-to-face with whom he thought to be Lauren Frank, but soon discovered that he just got outwitted by Luke.  As Luke left Ava’s apartment, she was seen ushering someone out of hiding.  The audience is to suspect that it’s her daughter, but it’s actually Morgan, Carly and Sonny’s son!  So is this Ms. Jerome actually Lauren Frank?  So many questions, not enough answers, indeed an interesting surprise I’m looking forward to seeing how it plays out.

That’s the tip of the iceberg as it appears Luke and Laura (Genie Francis) have feelings for one another, even though she is engaged to get married to Scotty (Kin Shriner).  Wonder how soaps most famed couple will reunite, its only inevitable.  On the nurse front, Sabrina is fed up with Britt’s wicked ways to keep her claws in Patrick (Jason Thompson) via the baby she is carrying.  I have an inkling that truth about the baby and so many other factors will come to light in the coming weeks, besides what happened with Robin (Kimberly McCullough) and Jerry Jacks?  Come on “GH” you can’t leave the fans waiting to learn more details.

With so much happening in PC it’s hard to stay up to date.  “General Hospital” airs weekdays at 2 p.m. on ABC.
