The Young and the Restless

HOLLYWOOD—It’s the moment that fans of the ABC soap “General Hospital” have been waiting almost two years for.  The truth about Robin (Kimberly McCullough) being alive has finally been REVEALED.  After countless cover ups and near fatal encounters, Robert (Tristan Rogers) revealed to Anna (Finola Hughes) that their daughter is indeed alive.  When Robert revealed the news, Anna wasn’t as welcoming, so to confirm her suspicions she paid a visit to the one man who has made her life a miserable hell, Cesar Faison (Anders Dove).  To say that his obsession with Anna is unhealthy would be an understatement.

“GH” writers sure know how to pull a curveball on viewers when Anna came face-to-face with Faison; the entire time we were made to believe it was Anna, but it was Dr. Obrecht wearing a mask!  To see Faison’s reaction was hilarious, but not as thrilling as when Anna unmasked the treacherous doctor and confronted Faison face-to-face about her daughter’s well being.  She finally got the confirmation that she was looking for. Just as news of Robin’s survival hit Anna, Patrick (Jason Thompson) had his world rocked by a phone call from Robin. The emotional fallout from the call literally sent Patrick into a panic, and Sabrina attempting to force her lover to come to grips with his sanity. Just when Robin arrives back in Port Charles is yet unknown, but we can expect some fiery fireworks considering Faison and Obrecht are on the run.

In other soap news, “Days of our Lives” is readying for November sweeps which looks like a potential death of a major character.  Sami (Alison Sweeney) and EJ’s (James Scott) engagement party turned into a bloodbath when crazed Marge (Elizabeth Roberts) crashed the event toting a gun. She fired several shots striking Chad (Casey Deidrick) in the chest. The fallout from the shooting will indeed affect Sami, EJ, Stefano (Joseph Mascolo), Kristen (Eileen Davidson) and Abigail (Kate Mansi). Chadhas been keeping a whopper of a secret: he’s been lying about having a brain tumor!  Imagine the look on Abigail’s face when she realizes she gave up her virginity to a guy who lied to her. To make matters worse, EJ has been keeping Chad’s secret; I wonder how Sami will react to that news.

Kristen is indeed good at keeping her secrets locked away, but the fact that she seduced and drugged Eric (Greg Vaughn) and could be pregnant with his child will be the nail in the coffin for her relationship with Brady (Eric Martsolf). She has already betrayed Brady once; I can only imagine the fury he’ll unleash when the truth comes out. The same could also devastate Nicole (Arianne Zucker) who has secret feelings for Father Eric.  Her world will also be rocked when the news comes to surface.

Over on “The Young and the Restless” tragedy has indeed struck the town of Genoa City.  Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and Billy’s (Billy Miller) lives will never be the same after losing their daughter Delia to a hit-and-run driver.  It’s always an emotional storyline when soaps decide to kill off a child, but its delivering some stellar acting from Miller and Hendrickson that are sure to garner some Emmy love come next year. To make matters worse, the person behind the wheel was none other than Adam Newman (Michael Munhey).  With baby Connor’s eye disease taking a toll on Adam and Chelsea (Melissa Claire-Egan), it looks like Delia may provide her corneas for Connor to regain his eyesight.

The Newman and Abbott clan will be at each other’s throats when the truth comes out.  Unfortunately, that is not the only bombshell to be unveiled for the Newman clan as Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) has a secret son she gave up for adoption when she was a teenager.  That son happens to be Dylan (Steve Burton).  I wonder how Nick (Joshua Marrow) and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) will react to discovering they have another secret sibling.  To complicate matters even more is the fact that Dylan and Nick are both vying for Avery’s affection. So which sibling will she ultimately choose, only time will tell?  The level of drama is indeed reaching new heights on your favorite soaps, so audiences can expect more thrills and surprises leading up to the coveted November sweeps.
