HOLLYWOOD—Mark Salling, 35, known by many for his role as Puck on the hit FOX TV series “Glee” has died. TMZ first broke the news the actor died from an apparent suicide on Tuesday, January 30. The actual cause of death has not yet been disclosed by authorities.

Salling was convicted of possession of child pornography in October 2017, after more than 50,000 images of child pornography was discovered on his personal computer. The actor was expected to serve 4 to 7 years in prison, and was also expected to pay restitution to victims.

He would have also had to register as a sex offender. Salling was expected to be sentenced in March. TMZ also reported in August 2017 that the actor cut his wrists in a suicide attempt at his Los Angeles home. Salling’s attorney denied the claims reported.

Salling released two music albums during his career, “Smoke Signals” in 2008 and “Pipe Dreams” in 2010. He starred on the Ryan Murphy series “Glee” for six seasons.
