SAN FRANCISCO—Authorities from the San Francisco Police Department are asking for the public’s help in locating the suspects involved in several assaults in the Duboce Triangle region. On February 23 at 10:30 p.m. a local couple was beaten near the 100 block of Sanchez Street.

According to a press release from the SFPD, the male victim suffered a broken leg and the female victim suffered a traumatic brain injury. Authorities were able to obtain video from the incident, but because of poor lighting, the footage was very grainy. The video depicts the suspect verbally engaged the victims and then struck the male victim in the face knocking him to the sidewalk.

The female victim attempted to intervene and was hit several times in the head before falling to the sidewalk where she hit her head. She has spent several days in the hospital and still suffers from injuries she sustained. The main suspect was the only individual who engaged the victims and was involved in the assault. The other three suspects stood by and watched.

The other suspects ran away together. The argument began after a sexual comment to the female victim was made, even though no sexual assault was committed or attempted. One of the 4 male suspects was believed to be wearing chef’s pants. The male victim helped give a sketch of the suspect with the help of the forensic artist.

The sketch of the suspect has been sent to all sworn members of the police department and U.C. Police. SFPD Park Station Investigators are seeking the assistance of the public to identify the outstanding suspects. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Sgt. Rob Terry at the Park Police Station, Special Investigation Team (SIT) during business hours at 415-242-3000, anonymously at the SFPD Tip Line at 415-575-4444 or text-a-tip to TIP411 with SFPD at the start of the message.
