HOLLYWOOD—With any reality show, if a cast member fails to bring the drama, out the door they will go. Its season five for the ladies of Beverly Hills, as “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” returned this week with new faces to the cast. Out the door are Joyce and Carlton, who didn’t mesh as well with the cast as expected last season. Not sure if anyone even remembers their names.

So what new faces have joined the cast this season? Two soap divas that fans of the soap world will recognize in “Days of Our Lives” alum Lisa Rinna and “DOOL” and “Young and Restless” star Eileen Davidson. Yes, some big-time household ladies have joined the mix this season, and it’s apparent that Davidson and Rinna are sure to rock viewers with some much needed drama this season.

Last season the drama revolved around the gang targeting Lisa Vanderpump, but it looks like Lisa V has allowed the past to be the past and move on towards the future. She worked on her strained relationship with Kyle, who the duo have been hot and cold since season one. She also attempted to make an amends with Yolanda as well. So tell me why isn’t she reaching out to her bestie, Brandie Glanville?

Rinna arrived on the scene as a friend of Kyle’s from the past, who is firecracker not afraid to speak her mind, at any given time. I think fans of the series will be looking forward to seeing Rinna have a few spats with the other ladies; looks like Kim Richards might be at the top of her list.

The bulk of the premiere surrounded Kyle’s annual White Party which has grown in popularity over the years. Brandi was suffering from anxiety about running into former friends/enemies in Lisa Vanderpump and Adrienne Maloof. The woman who is never afraid to speak her mind was a bit hesitant about being around a group of catty women?

The original gang was reunited as Maloof, Taylor Armstrong and Camille Grammar all showed up to the shindig. To say things were a bit awkward in the air would be an understatement to say the least, but Brandi made the first move to mend fences with her former friends. The party was a bit of a bore if you ask me, but Rinna did indeed bring a bit of laughter and festivity to the party for the short-time she arrived on the scene.

Audiences may have been a bit disappointed to not see Davidson make her debut in the series premiere, but based on her tagline in the opening, she will be one to watch this season. I must say I was pleased to see Brandi and Adrienne attempt to rebuild their fractured friendship, but Lisa is not looking towards making amends to the relationship with her former BFF, well at least not right now.

From the sneak peek of the trailer, season five is expected to be one of the most drama fueled seasons the series has seen to date. “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on Bravo. Let the cattiness begin.
