SAN FRANCISCO—The San Francisco Police Department revealed that a suspect has been arrested in connection to the stabbing death of Mark Anthony Camacho on Thursday, January 11. According to the SFPD, officers responded to the 1200 block of Potrero Avenue at 8:14 p.m. about an individual who was stabbed and bleeding from the neck and torso.

After arriving on the scene, officers found Camacho, 59, of San Francisco suffering from multiple stab wounds. San Francisco Fire Department paramedics responded and rendered aid, but Camacho died of injuries he sustained while being treated at a local hospital.

An investigation by the SFPD Homicide Unit led to the identification and arrest of the suspect within 24 hours of the initial incident. On Friday, January 12, SFPD officers arrested Jesus Ramirez, 48, of San Francisco. Ramirez was booked at the San Francisco County Jail for murder. Due to pending identification matters, the suspect’s photo will not be released at this time.
