NEW YORK—”Fashion Police” host and comedienne Joan Rivers, 81, suffered respiratory and cardiac arrest during a minor throat procedure on August 28.

She has been on life support since being rushed to Manhattan’s Mount Sinai Hospital on Thursday. Doctors placed Rivers into a medically induced coma, which she was recently taken out of.

Joan’s daughter, Melissa Rivers, 46, flew from Los Angeles to be at her mother’s side. She has been providing updates to the public about her mother’s condition.

Melissa Rivers indicated the following in a statement on Tuesday, September 2, “On behalf of my mother and our family, we are extremely grateful for all the love and support we’ve received.” She added, “At this time she does remain on life support.”

Celebrities have been vocal sending blessings to Rivers via social media on her path to recovery.

Ellen DeGeneres tweeted, “I’m thinking about you, @Joan_Rivers, and sending lots of love your way.”

Courtney Love Cobain tweeted, “Hang in there @Joan_Rivers So many awful gowns are going to be worn this year as bait for you pull through. Love and prayers Court.”

Joan Collins tweeted, “Dear @Joan_Rivers – praying for you. Please get well soon. We need you to keep us laughing!”
