SANTA MONICA—Musician/actor Justin Timberlake is having a good start to 2013.  The singer released the single “Suit & Tie” feat. Jay-Z a few weeks ago; it’s his first single in several years that achieved stellar results on the charts. The Recording Academy announced on Wednesday, January 30 that Justin will be performing at the 55thAnnual Grammy Awards on Sunday, February 10.

Rumors have been floating regarding rather Justin will open the show or not, but no official announcement has been made. Typically the opening act is reserved for a big artist. Timberlake who celebrates his 32 birthday on January 31 will be releasing his third solo album “The 20/20 Experience” later this year.  He has won a total of six Grammy awards throughout his musical career.

The 55th Annual Grammy Awards will be handed out at the famed Staples Center on February 10.  It will be hosted by rapper/actor LL Cool J and will be televised live on CBS at 8 p.m. Other performers slated to hit the stage include Dierks Bentley, Miranda Lambert, The Black Keys, Fun., the Lumineers, Mumford & Sons, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Jack White, Elton John, Ed Sheeran, Alicia Keys, Maroon 5 and Frank Ocean.
