SAN FRANCISCO—A man was injured during a shooting in Lafayette Park (Northern District) on Tuesday, October 24.

Just after 2:00 a.m., the victim was taking a walk through the park when the suspect, approached him and asked to borrow his phone. The victim pulled it out, which the suspect then grabbed and the two began grappling over the phone.

The suspect, who has been described as an African American male in his mid 20s wielded a handgun, and fired shots at the victim as he ran away. The victim was transported to the hospital, where his injuries were determined to be non-life threatening. The victim did not lose any belongings during the incident.

Police have not made any arrests in the case. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the SFPD. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
