SAN FRANCISCO—At 1:38 p.m. on Sunday, December 18, firefighters from the San Francisco Fire Department received a call about a man and his dog who were trapped below a cliff at Fort Funston. 

According to reports, the two became trapped after the dog went over Fort Funston cliff and the owner got stuck in an attempt to rescue his dog.

The SFFD tweeted about the incident, “BREAKING: CLIFF RESCUE FORT FUNSTON, DOG WENT OVER THE CLIFF AND OWNER IS NOW STUCK.”

San Francisco Fire Department’s Jonathan Baxter explained that once firefighters arrived on the scene, they were able to retrieve both the man and dog using rope.

The dog was rescued, uninjured. The man suffered minor injuries from the incident, and was treated by paramedics on the scene.
