SAN FRANCISCO—Authorities have identified the 20 year-old victim of a deadly shooting that occurred in San Francisco’s Outer Sunset District by the San Francisco Medical Examiner’s Office, as Ryan Sacdalan.   

According to reports, at 8:53 pm on Tuesday, September 18, officers responded to a shooting that occurred near 46th Avenue and Moraga Street.  Sacdalan was initially unresponsive and later died while being treated for his injuries at a local hospital.

Police have scanned the streets to see if there is video coverage of the shooting. In an interview with the SF Chronicle, Simoun Sacdalan, the father of the victim wants to know why his son ended up alone and dead when he was out with friends.  Witnesses on social media stated that they saw a car take off moments after the shooting. KTVU News reported that neighbors witnessed a person wearing a hoodie flee the scene after the shooting. 

Ryan’s Facebook page noted he was attending school at City College of San Francisco and working at the Old Navy establishment located on 4th Street.

Authorities have not yet identified any suspect(s) in the case. Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact the San Francisco Police Department.
