SAN FRANCISCO—According to reports, Metallica’s lead singer, James Hetfield, has moved from the Bay Area to Colorado. After years of living in the Bay Area, Hetfield relocated to Vail, Colorado.
In an interview with radio talk show host, Joe Rogan, Hetfield listed many reasons for moving from the Bay Area. He claimed that he had grown tired of the negative reactions from locals who did not look kindly upon his political and lifestyle choices.
“I kind of got sick of the Bay Area, the attitudes of the people there, a little bit. They talk about how diverse they are, and things like that, and it’s fine if you’re diverse like them. But showing up with a deer on the bumper doesn’t fly in Marin County, ” said Hetfield.
Hetfield frequently visited Vail and told Rogan he loves the environment because he feels like a part of nature and loves hunting.
He continued to say that moving to Vail was a natural choice for him and his wife, Francesca, who grew up in Colorado after moving from Argentina.
“I love the ocean, and I love the Bay Area, I love what it’s got to offer, but there’s just an attitude that it was… It wasn’t healthy for me,” Hetfield said.
