MALIBU—Actor Micheal Madsen, 61, was arrested for driving under the influence after crashing his Land Rover into a pole on Sunday, March 24. Madsen was released on bail on Monday, March 25 after posting $15,000.

He faces misdemeanor DUI charges. There were no reports of any injuries during the incident. Authorities reported the actor’s blood alcohol level of 0.10. The legal limit in the state of California is 0.08.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. He was taken into custody around 8:00 p.m in prior to officials from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department conducting a sobriety test by law.

“He has been charged with a DUI, he was simply drunk driving,” said Lt. Kimberly Mendoza of the LASD Malibu Station to Canyon News.

In 2012, the actor was also arrested for a DUI after having a blood alcohol level of .21 and sentence to 30 days in rehab.

Madsen has appeared in several Quentin Tarantino films throughout his career including “Reservoir Dogs,” “Kill Bill” and “The Hateful Eight,” which recently received three Oscar nominations including Best Cinematography in 2016.

“The Hateful Eight” won a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score, Best Screenplay and Supporting Actress for Jennifer Jason Leigh.

Madsen is expected to appear in Tarantino’s upcoming ninth feature “Once Upon A Time,” starring Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio. The movie will be release in July.
