SAN FRANCISCO—The formidable SF 49ers had a short week coming off their spectacular performance during Monday Night Football against the Cleveland Browns on October 7. In just five days, they made the trip to the LA Coliseum to take on the defending NFC Champion Los Angeles Rams.

Former Cal QB Jared Goff led his offense down the field early to put the Rams ahead in the 1st quarter. Answering the call, Jimmy Garoppolo took the Niners offense to the goal line where halfback Tevin Coleman delivered a touchdown.

The 49ers defense were lights out against the Los Angeles Rams the rest of the game, allowing zero points thru three quarters of play. A fourth down goal-line stop helped cement the San Francisco win, as they were able to keep the Rams on converting on third and fourth downs the entire game. The 49ers claimed the victory with a score of 20-7.

The 49ers rank second in total defense with game changing forced fumble and recovery by Pro Bowl DT DeForest Buckner and DE Arik Armstead. The 49ers stay atop the competitive NFC West, which boast a stellar Seattle Seahawks standing at 5-1. The Niners go on the road to the capital as they take on Washington on Sunday, October 20 at 10 a.m. PST.
