Niners Stay Atop The NFC With Win

SAN FRANCISCO—Levi Stadium was buzzing as their home team finally completed an act not seen since the days of Joe Montana to Jerry Rice. The SF 49ers are undefeated at 4-0 and look to stake their claim as NFC championship contender early. On the first play from scrimmage speeder Matt Brieda delivered a instantaneous 83-yard touchdown to put the Niners up early. Brieda also added an receiving touchdown as well in the 1st quarter as well.

The Cleveland Browns, hot off their defeat of the Baltimore Ravens last Sunday struggled to produce against the Niners defense. In the secondary, Richard Sherman picked off Baker Mayfield in the 1st half. First round pick Nick Bosa added a fumble recovery in the second half. The San Francisco defense forced 4 turnovers and held the Browns to 3 points.

Jimmy Garoppolo tossed a 22-yard touchdown to George Kittle in the second half which extended the lead 28-3. The Niners won with the final score of 31-3. The undefeated 49ers  will face the Los Angeles Rams in a divisional match-up on Sunday, October 13 at 1 p.m. PST.
