The goal of the PLAY BALL initiative, a joint effort between the MLB and USA baseball is to engage youthful baseball fans and honor the continuous support of youth involvement in baseball and softball. In addition to the giveaways, the A’s will partner with the Oakland Cal Ripken Baseball League to host a baseball game on Saturday at Greenman Field, along with an equipment drive in collaboration with the Baseball Tomorrow Fund.

In a separate news release, the A’s announced that infielder Adam Rosales and former pitcher Vida Blue will host a sandlot baseball game from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Greenman Field. The event is also supported by Sandlot Nation, Rosales’ non-profit organization.
