OAKLAND—The Oakland A’s have now committed to take care of fans with certain food allergies while at the ballpark. The organization has decided to accommodate fans allergic to peanuts with their own seating section, which is a first for a major league baseball team.

The small section of seating at the Oakland Coliseum will be specially cleaned and maintained to be as free as possible from peanuts. The section has been coined the “Peanut Control Zone.” The designated section of seats is on the suite level in deep left field.

The Oakland A’s have been getting praise for the decision of helping keep vulnerable and allergy-prone people safe. While tickets haven’t been sold for the Peanut Control Zone, it is expected that the $27 seats will quickly sell out.
