SAN FRANCISCO—A San Francisco Police Officer was injured during a shooting incident in the Mission District on Saturday, March 8. According to a press release from the SFPD, at approximately 2:45 p.m. officers were dispatched to the Mission District to respond to a “malicious mischief call” on the 1300 block of Florida Street. The vehicle then fled the area, and the officer found his partner on the driver’s side of the vehicle injured from a gunshot wound to his left shoulder. The San Francisco Fire Department arrived on the scene and provided medical assistance to the officer who was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

The injured officer has been with the department for more than six years and is 28. The name of the officer has not yet been disclosed to the public, but he is expected to recover from his injuries.
