SAN FRANCISCO—On Tuesday, October 16, officers from the San Francisco Police Department responded to a shooting in the vicinity of Aquatic Park. According to the SFPD, the shooting took place at about 9:31 p.m. The responding officers from the Central Police Station later determined that the shooting involved a U.S. Park Police officer. The officer involved in the shooting was not injured during the incident. 

One subject was detained from the scene, while another was sent to the hospital.  A firearm with extended magazine was recovered at the scene. In retrieving the weapon, officers were able to charge one subject with possession of firearm and possession of firearm with large capacity magazine.   

The investigation is in the early stages and Investigations are being conducted by the San Francisco Police Department and the San Francisco District Attorney’s Independent Investigations Bureau.
